About 15 years ago, Lucas discontinued its robotics team, but in 2018, we re-entered the competition as a rookie team. We are now entering our 6th year of robotics with our new team FRC6854 Viking Robotics.

Mentors play a vital role in our robotics team, providing technical expertise, guidance, and skill development to our members. They offer their experience and knowledge to help us navigate the complexities of robotics projects, providing project guidance, troubleshooting assistance, and feedback on our progress.

Our team is dedicated to achieving excellence in robotics, pushing the boundaries of innovation, and making a positive impact in our community. By sharing our knowledge, inspiring others, and fostering a love for STEM, we hope to create a legacy that extends far beyond our time together as a team.

During this season, we have experienced the hardships of membership. Although we were successful in our endeavors at both Waterloo and Windsor, our season plunged into the sea. It may be much but our award from this season is to our resilience and the desire to thriving, using the most basic tools to even create a robot that functions properly. The Rising All Star award is the only award we have ever won for this season.

Another successful season for Viking Robotics, we got our first blue banner at the Newmarket Complex event, won the Judges Award at McMaster and qualified for the Ontario Provincial Championships - Science Division back to back. As this was a slightly recent season, many of the members from this season are still in Robotics up to this day either as a mentor or still a student.

One of our successful seasons since 2018. The season “Charged Up presented by HAAS” was the season where we returned from the COVID pandemic and brought lots of talent for this team. We competed back at our home competition at Western then McMaster, both resulting in getting Finalists and the Imagery Award in honor of Jack Kamen. We qualified for the Ontario Provincial Championships - Science Division in Hamilton as a result of our performance. Regardless, it was seen as one of our best years on this team.

The year after our Rookie debut, a regular season with high hopes. This time, we competed out of our home competition and challenged ourselves in Waterloo and McMaster to which we won the Safety Award sponsored by Underwriters Laboratories. Regardless of our losing season, we're still optimistic for what's ahead.

Our first year at the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). This is where we brought back Robotics to A. B. Lucas, resulting in our rookie year which included Clarke Road, Westminster, London South joining the same year on the season “Power Up!”. We persevered through many challenges in both Windsor and Western (our home competition) which awarded us the Highest Rookie Seed, Rookie All Star and Rookie Inspiration Award sponsored by National Instruments respectively. A wonderful start for Viking Robotics!
